Villagers progress thanks to big win

Barnton travelled to The Ade Moran Stadium to take on the holders and came away with an emphatic victory on Saturday afternoon.

The Villagers suffered an early setback as the hosts took the lead on ten minutes thanks to a neat finish from Justin Pickering. Going behind didn't deter Barnton as they found themselves level within two minutes with Luke Wilson-Jones firing home from fifteen yards, and three minutes later they were in front when Ryan Malone set up Sam Houghton whose strike found the bottom corner.

Barnton took control of the came before the break when Wilson-Jones delivered a superb cross for Malone to side foot home.

HT 1-3
Heys started the second half strongly and some resolute defending kept Barnton's two goal lead in tacked, chances fell at both ends.

But the Villagers were able to but the tie beyond the holders late on, the fourth coming on seventy four minutes when Lee Guirado added a fourth, after more good work from Wilson Jones.

Barnton then completed the win with two more goals in injury time Guirado with a thumping volley and a clever finish from Malone from a tight angle.

The draw for the last 16 takes place on Monday evening at 8:30, keep an eye out on twitter for the news on who we draw!
