Following on from Thursday night's confirmation that Gary Moore will be joining James McShane's backroom staff as his assistant manager, we caught up with McShane and got his view on the new arrival and the confirmation of the new league structure.
"I am delighted to welcome Gary to Barnton and I know he will be brilliant. He comes here with over 20 years experience of non league football and knows it in and out."
McShane is taking up his first managerial job this season and was keen to have an experienced number two and understands the importance: "I've know him for over 10 years now and there isn't anyone in football that I trust more. His football knowledge is incredible and more importantly he is someone I trust and he will back my decisions."
He added: "Gary has been at Barnton before and a lot of players have played for him and know him. His experience will be crucial to our success."
The new league structure was also confirmed on Friday afternoon with The Villagers taking up a spot in the North West Counties Division One South. McShane is intrigued but looking forward to the challenge ahead: "The new league system will take some getting used to. I think both the North and South will be competitive and close, there are some strong teams in there and the new clubs will help improve the standard."
McShane also confirmed that the pre season schedule is almost complete and of course we will confirm the fixtures across all of our social media platforms.
