A new era gets under way on Saturday afternoon as the Villagers welcome St Martins to Townfield Lane.
A lot has changed both on and off the field since May, with James McShane officially taking over as manager from Steve Lloyd who takes up a new role as Chairman.
McShane's appointment has seen a change in the backroom staff with Garry Moore joining as Assistant Manager, elsewhere familiar faces Liam Page and Adm Judge link up as First Team Coach and Goalkeeper Coach respectively.
The Villagers head into the new season on the back of an unbeaten pre season campaign that saw them win all of their five games.
Speaking ahead of the contest McShane was in a positive mood and is looking forward to the challenge: "Its not only the first game of the season but also mine as manager of this club which I'm proud of. I also welcome Garry, Liam and Adam who make up the rest of the new management structure."
He added: "After a hot, hard and long preseason, the lads have worked hard to get to this point and after 5 wins in 5 games, look forward to the challenge of St. Martins today."
In terms of new faces there have been a couple of additions to the squad but McShane has kept the core together and is looking to build with a young squad: "The squad has changed a little from last season but the core are still with us and hoping for a better season than last."
McShane also stressed the importance of getting off to a good start to the season: "The start of the season are always hectic and with 9 games over the next 4 weeks, a win is always handy and that is what we will aim for today."
Kick off on Saturday is at 3pm and the club house will be open from 2pm, get down and support your Villagers.
