Villagers look to secure back to back league wins on Monday evening

The action continues tonight down at the Hinchliffe Holmes stadium with the visit of Abbey Hey in yet another crucial league encounter.

Having beaten in form Barnoldswick Town on Saturday the Villagers go in search of another three points that would move them even closer to achieving their goal of survival in their debut Premier Division season.

Ryan Malone’s first half goal was enough to see the Villagers move 12 points clear of New Mills who currently occupy the final relegation spot with 6 games left.

Manager Steve Lloyd is keen to ensure that his team back up their win on Saturday with a big performance on Monday: “All of our focus is now on this game, we must work hard to make survival happen. I know we have enough quality in this team to do that.”

Player coach James McShane also spoke in the build up to the double header about the importance of finishing the season well: “The lads know what they need to do to ensure a positive finish to the season, we are good enough to pick up more points and finish the season as high up the table as possible.”

Our visitors Abbey Hey go in search of their first league win since their 3-2 victory against Squires Gate in early March and have collected 5 points from the last 18 on offer.

Kick off on Monday evening is at 7:45pm get down to the ground and support the lads as they look to pick up a massive three points.
