On the evening of Monday the 29th of October we are delighted to welcome former Everton, Manchester United & West Ham United Manager David Moyes to ‘The Offside Trust Stadium’ who will be delivering an LMA Coaching master-class training session to a selection of players from our Under 11’s & 14’s teams.
This has come along after a kind gesture saw a long standing friend of our Chairman Steve Lloyd, Alister Marley donating it to the Club in recognition of the recent progression & drive being made by us as a Football Club.
Alistair had this to say;
“I was privileged to be at the LMA Annual Awards Dinner in London earlier this year, where Pep Guardiola was rightly given the prestigious ‘Manager of the Year’ award. Pep’s humble and articulate acceptance speech demonstrated the breadth of his remarkable capabilities - no wonder he’s the best right now!"
He added: "At the dinner, all the guests had the opportunity to bid for A Coaching Master-class delivered by an LMA Ambassador. I was delighted to succeed in my bid. My immediate thoughts of who would best deserve and benefit from this was Steve Lloyd, and his Barnton Football Club. Steve and I go back over 20 years in soccer, as friends, players together and in management, and I wanted to give him something back for the selfless and tireless leadership and ambition he has given to so many in our local communities. As important in my choice was the respect he and his players and staff will give to the LMA VIP’s next Monday. Good luck for a great day!"
The evening will see David deliver an hour’s training session with the youngsters followed by a 30 minute Q&A whereby he will be able to answer questions on his illustrious playing & managing career.
Our Chairman Steve Lloyd added;
“Firstly a massive thank you to Ali for offering this up to us, myself & Ali are good pals from way back & it is lovely to see all of our efforts recognised with this wonderful gesture.
All at the Club are looking forward to the evening & the opportunity to welcome such a distinguished member of the LMA as David Moyes to our home. It will be a great experience for us all, most of all for our lucky junior players who will be taking part in the event, we obviously wish we could have involved all of our junior section but with set numbers given it was important that we found the balance that would maximise the benefit.
It is one of those nights to look forward to as a Club whilst embracing the opportunity to learn from such an established figure within the game, I’m sure all involved are set for a brilliant night”
